"I was a highwayman..."

... is an excellent theme song. Was that Willie Nelson's highwayman to Johnny Cash's sailor?

I saw a fresh pinecone on the way through the shade to the library today. It was still clung to by the dew. I thought of pocketing it, but decided it was enough of a gift as it was, and left its unspoiled seeds to the squirrels who no doubt also appreciate its glossy green coat...

After a roast aubergine on tomato and chevre cheese sandoiti, much better and slightly less prone to another linguistic meltdown. JN is a dispenser of good soap and a glowing trove of sensibility, a whole counsel of owls with enormous eyes)--some rockily hewn, but all of which tumble comfortably in the hand and wear down nicely in one's deepest pockets.

I have no idea when I'll see you two next, but right now, it feels miserably far in the future. This summer, I've esp. felt the pinch and the distance from you, JN and the others.

On my way to the Metro, I even bumped into someone who looked a little like Upsi (-downsloth). This nostalgia really bites. >.<

Love, Feldie
