humility great and small

Two things of note:

a) Am a great deal less affluent as of this afternoon, having paid off apartment, late movie charge at library, and phone bill(s). Canned soups and dry noodle packets are standing by till that magic envelope arrives in January.

b) Crashed my bike coming home from errand run. Uphill, slightly hazy from dehydration and the falling evening. Car lights like a stream of Christmas ushers. Scratch nose, slightly absent. No memory what then. Left arm, left knee run aground. Bicycle a-twist above me, inches away from passing vehicle tires. Surprising calm. Annoyance. Afraid to lift up cream tweed trouser leg to inspect for damages. Aluminum basket atop steering wheel quashed. Slow extrication from mess.

A kind lady walks by with her two dogs, Hamlet and Palladin. She helps to right my front wheel. I push uphill, grateful but puzzled. Song gone.

Need to do laundry and put house in order before jetting off. Wish I were going to Cuba.

FINALLY! Recovered my Blogger info and can finally write you here... am afraid it'll be short, but my dear Frogger, I missed you!!! A certain shixiong emailed me and mentioned enjoying hanging out. I can't help but beam when I think of you. =D

Have classes tomorrow. Just 3 more school days and we break for Xmas. Am still behind on work, so it won't be a proper break, as expected. Just hope I can catch up with friends and family as well as work! Ha! How will you be spending the winter hols? I've got to be in better touch with you. BTW, have you heard Sudafed's excellent news? I've gotta write. Love you, Luowa. TTYL!!!

Final comment of the morning: I'm mostly on Xanga at http://www.xanga.com/feldspaar/ b/c my kids have a community there. It's PG-13 and not entirely private, but it works. For proper communications, I resort to email and snail mail, after all. Night night, my love.
